I would guess the company car thing is better than actually owning it. Did Porsche take care of all the maintenance for you?

Buy the car that suits your needs and wants. Do not ever listen to others about the image/stigma the car has saddled with it. That is the recipe for buying the wrong car.

I agree that the reliability issues are part of the problem. I somewhat think that it is more of a perceived reliability issue, but that is only because of my own experience with a GTI that was practically bullet-proof for eight years.

At least I'm not the only one. I hate those seats.

I guess I am the only (former) GTI owner that really hates those plaid seats.

Absolutely, yes.

No, the reasonably priced car is a 4-door.

I get in arguments with my wife and a few friends about this issue sometimes;

This is why they (usually) have to pay for diminished value. I know that this used to be almost impossible to get from someone's insurance policy payout. Now, many states have laws requiring insurance companies to pay for DV. I know that Georgia's law even has it so that your own insurance company has to pay you for

This guy loves it.

I can’t believe they don’t sell this one here anymore.

I feel this way about all the 4 seat convertibles. I guess it’s the longer roofline that gets messed up and really throws off the lines of the car when it gets convertible-ized. I don’t feel this way about the 2 seat roadsters, but I am biased as I own a Boxster.

I actually feel this way about nearly all 4 seat convertibles. I like roadsters (I own a Boxster) but the extra length of the 4 seaters really screws up the lines of a car when made into a convertible.

Ok, as someone who has been married a while, I think I have a (mostly) serious answer to this question;

This guy hopes you're right.
