There’s an even better version of this movie with Dixon’s victim included, although I appreciated the parallels drawn between the casualness with which the bar man at the end and Dixon spake their evil acts.

She seems to be a good, normal person who kept hope alive when it was illogical to do so, and now she’s enjoying success. That’s phenomenal. Me, I am looking to change my opinion that she’s not funny!
Sadly, the system works? Hughes’ and Rife’s snark will survive long after we are dead.
I can handle this argument until I ask people what popular non-rock acts feel vital and forward-thinking in 2017. There was not a single one, by my count! Jack Antonoff adding filigree to everything? Cardi B learning 9th grade English in real time? Tropical house trickling down to Ed Sheeran? Kendrick Lamar and Chris…
I spend a lot of time in gyms, and the amount of nondescript festival EDM shows tastemakers need to exist. This awful cover of “You Get What You Give” didn’t even chart much or rack up views, but you’ll find it on scores of muzak playlists.
Yeah, you can’t link to the A.V. Club’s top 20 and also claim that there are no such things as city- or country-driven aesthetics. Just because the upper and artistic classes are metropolitan doesn’t mean you can’t point exactly to where young artists like Mura Masa and Chance The Rapper got their ideas.
The Christmas period goes through January 5th. Liturgy Fever: Catch It!
It’s so laughably parochial in its attempt to be cosmopolitan.
I know Getty Images says that’s a picture of Ethan Kath, but it’s not. It’s their live drummer, Christopher Chartrand. You can tell because he’s on drums.
I really like the way you and squirtloaf put it, and I’ve never thought of your point before. Excluding tertiary characters, every one represents a legitimate personality type or societal archetype, and they play off of each other well. Ridley and, unfortunately, Isaac do nothing for me. More important than that,…
Yep. I absolutely agree. Rian Johnson remains my favorite living director, but the Luke Skywalker alteration (or, more specifically, that Lucasfilm decided that they needed to undo Return Of The Jedi in this specific way and Johnson had to do SOMETHING) is inconceivably terrible to me.
Er, did black women turn out in huge numbers? It would be exciting to me if they did! But percentages are not counts.
Don’t forget “whom!”
This version is not good, but the original is and people should know that Patrick Brammall is 1 of the funniest comedic actors working today.
Its version of Undo is my favorite song of all time.
As with most LucasArts games, I was never bowled over by the gameplay. (I’m a Sierra fan until the end; King’s Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow is my 2nd favorite game ever.)
Aparna Nancherla’s act is not like Kondabolu’s, but her Twitter persona is. She retweeted an article by Drew Magary about how the future of comedy is considerate, and I despaired acknowledging that she considered this an endorsement of her work.
Generally, I wouldn’t be for so clearly a Flight Of The Conchords song being shoehorned into a Muppet movie, but, goodness, that is such a fantastic song.
I’m with these (precious few) others. It’s not even close, in fact, and it’s the only 1 I physically own. It’s very much in the category of quality art that’s “_ for people who don’t like _.” I like The Muppets quite a bit, but Henson’s bedrock sincerity, setup-punchline jokes that require a little irony, and simple…
