And not every person is defined by national politics. Some are by state or local. In Wisconsin, there are a bunch of latino and black people who vote Republican (I wouldn't call them conservative) because we have education vouchers and, really, why WOULDN'T you vote Republican if you're low-income and care about

I'm an education fundraiser/foundation person, not a teacher, but I go to substitute for a week this year.

That's some 1st world narrowness. The people a couple of continents over whose centuries-old civilization is being destroyed through human slaughter, material destruction, and sacrilegious defacement would probably say they're living up to "faith in the darkness."
