Does Yondu not count as a captain? Kraglin refers to him as such, more than once.
(Last Jedi SPOILERS!)
The cynical part of me wonders if they offered to cover current all future medical costs above and beyond existing player health insurance, as long as he doesn’t come out and say “yeah, I was paralyzed playing in the NFL.”
You’re overthinking this. Just play the national anthem.

The problem is you get all caught up and then you’re invested in the show and maybe you then convince yourself it’s worth the monthly fee. It isn’t. I honestly won’t feel bad when CBS is pirated into bankruptcy if this is the model their going to pursue going forward.

And, in many navies, the person in command of a vessel is referred to as Captain, regardless of their actual rank.
Awesome, I’ve never seen the original show but if what I’ve seen of Teen Titans Go is any indicator I can expect basically the same show with a barely different animation style, right? Love that zany comedy!
How is Poe considered one of the best?! His hot-headed actions directly resulted in the deaths of a vast majority of the Resistance!
Plus there’s about to be a live action Teen Titans series. Is Slade not going to be usable in that as well? Because that’s insane.
Lorca has shown several times both that he is either a bad person, extremely I’ll suited to being a captain in Starfleet, or both.
My wife and I love The Orville, but we’re also both of the belief that the ship is basically the ship the Enterprise would come across adrift with like one person barely alive on board in the cold opening of a TNG episode.
and in The Last Jedi, his demotion helps him learn a valuable lesson about leadership and being a hero that will presumably play a major role in his appearance in Episode IX
This is ridiculous. Any real appearance of Slade in a movie is two years away at the earliest. He could appear on at least two seasons of Arrow before DC starts marketing his film debut. Moreover, on Arrow Deathstroke is integral to Oliver Queen’s origin story and has been a recurring character on the show for four…

So let me get this straight, there is a TV universe that has done nothing but grow shows, audience, and stories. It may not always be great, but it’s consistently OK. They are getting jerked around for a movie universe where, with the exception of one film, OK is an aspirational goal.
Arrowverse would be greatly served if they moved past Deathstroke and just established Rose Wilson’s Ravager, as great as Manu Bennett is.
CW/DC Deathstroke > DC Movieverse
This is so dumb to me. I’m sure this is also the reason why Gotham was stuck with kid Bruce Wayne as well.
