I think it was because Silver blew Trump's chances in the primaries (he openly declared Trump had no chance of victory) and people just thought he was being overly generous to Trump to cover his ass in case things went that way again.

Thom Matthews' scream of indignation on that last line is perfect too. "How dare the movies lie to us?"

Phenomenal cast and most get nothing to do.
