So, if I use the receiver hitch for a bike rack, or maybe the rear support for a canoe rack, and never for towing, not only will have have to deal with the proximity warnings, I will get letter from Tesla saying I have to remove the hitch?

Better yet, a non-stick cooking spray - similar effect, but usually vegetable-oil based, so the chemicals are less harmful
