Yep. And, if you had cool customers that tipped in cash and the place wasn’t all funny about claiming tips, it was one step below bartending in a hot nightclub.

I used to deliver pizza waaay back. It was a pretty sweet job. I worked at Hungry Howies, Little Ceasars, and Gumby’s at various points. If you knew the area and how to drive right, you could make some solidly decent money. There are (were?) way worse jobs out there for a high school/college kid. I was pulling like…
It’s alright. He blew up that volcano by Tonga as a proof of concept for satellite internet. This launch was just a glitch in his Matrix.
You’d be surprised how calculatedly incompetent the MTA actually is. I’ve seen it behind closed doors. They do this shit on purpose.
If you haven’t noticed already, all the sites here are burning to the ground. I’m just here for the bonfire. It’s basically a huge pissed off media conglomerate vs. a fresh union contract. Neither side is happy.
Dude, you have to buy/lease a new car at least once in your life. Since you have already spec’d out what you want, pull the trigger.
The more I think about it... it makes so much sense for a company like Amazon, or one of the major trucking companies, or the ride-shares, to want automation to happen so soon. It would certainly reduce a shitload of labor cost vs. what already is a decent chunk of liability, and provide a better barometer of risk in…
I’m not sure if this is your own original theory or not, but either way it makes a ton of sense. It for sure has the Warren Buffet seal of approval. No corporate data aggregation is done for funsies, and it would be a colossal new revenue stream.
When I grew up delivering pizza in the snow, one hand on the wheel and the other on the E(hand)-brake. That’s how you take tuns at speed!
I don’t know about all that. I grew up in MI and spent a lot my off time up in the Northern Lower Peninsula in the winter. When you live there, it’s no biggie. But, when you aren’t exposed to the cold for awhile and you plop into it out of nowhere, It’s can get insanely uncomfortable. Texas has it’s colder-ish…
This is the Jezebel content I come here for.
You might be doing the wrong math. Just saying. It almost makes sense (albeit probably a short term career) then just doing nothing. The numbers actually kind of work.
Yes, I’m closer to Celtic Ray’s and the Four Points. There aren’t that many charging ports around these parts, so he probably hangs out at SRQ a lot.
They are all quitting. It’ll be a shell soon.
I understand how you’d think that, but this is the dude I know. Like I said before, if you think youtube videos can make you an expert...you kinda deserve what you get. (not you, per se, but in general)
Well, since the AVClub is imploding, Deadspin is pointless, and Gizmodo is turning into and advertising dust bin like Lifehacker...I guess the idea is just to compile everything on here. It would certainly explain all the “bad cops” stories that would have worked fine on The Root (or Splinter, for that matter).

Yep. I wouldn’t do it but the dude seemed happy doing it. That reminds me of something else he said. He told me he used to be a diesel mechanic but his back/hips/hands are all sorts of jacked up so he needed to find something not so physical.
I mean, it is plausible... It would mean roughly 250 mi/day. It’s not all that uncommon to do long airport runs as there are 3 airports around here (Sarasota/Punta Gorda/RSW) that kinda divvy up the flights and are all about 45 minutes apart from north to south. So a lot of time on I-75, I suppose. And a pit stop at a…
You should check out this channel. Dr. Becky is pretty cool at breaking things down...
