No, this looks just like a Honda Accord coupe.

notice how the spoiler is now part of the hatch. not bolted on.

I wouldn't blame manufacturer, but stupid and outdated FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards). I am sure VW could redesign their taillights, and do other things, but then you wouldn't pay your $23k for base 2.0T Tiguan. I'd like to remind you, that in Germany cheapest 2.0T Tiguan costs €32k which is $44k. (I

THIS. I absolutely HATE that. Who the hell in the DOT approved that? You're exactly right - it desensitizes you when looking at GM vehicles with the white lights on in back.

I don't know about this being dangerous, but the whole Chevy thing with backup whites being illuminated for about a minute after the driver has exited the vehicle is. In the parking garage at work I basically starting ignoring backup lights on newer Chevy models because 99% of the time it was an empty vehicle whose

I believe it. DOT is full of antiquated inconsistencies. With that said, I'd love to have a job there. Steady pay with little effort.

i really dislike red turn signals. I have a PRE LCI BMW e92, which utilizes a separate amber section for turn signals. The newer LCI models have a full LED taillight in which the US version turns red to signal, yet the Euro version turns amber from a full red housing. Many people upgrade to the LCI LED tails to keep

Throw in the possible necessity for hazard lights and the entire policy is completely asinine

I don't understand this either. According to a NHTSA study, amber turn signals are 5.3% more effective than red turn signals in preventing crashes. I never like red turn signals so i replaced the taillight housings in my 3-series wagon with the Euro-spec ones that come with amber turn signal panel.

I was following an Escape the other day and I was expecting the clear lens to be the turn signal. Nope. It had red turn signal. Why? Why would you do this? You have a spot to put amber bulbs.

its the cheap American way, pretend to have a dedicated taillight turn signal

The combination of red rear turn signals being allowed and those hideous front amber reflectors being mandated is absurd to me.

I've also noticed that a lot of newer Audi's, BMW's, and Merc's use the separate turn signal portion exactly as the Euro versions, but here they use red LED's instead of amber... and I don't know why... I mean if amber is legally allowed I would think it would be cheaper to produce just one taillight assembly for the

I agree, it's dumb. Amber turn signals 4 lyfe

I'm sorry, but the being able to use Red for a turn signal should be completely outlawed. It's so confusing when someone has a brake light out, I think they're just turning and all of a sudden they're 20 feet closer to me.

Lot 1003, that's all that matters. IT'S A FLIPPIN CAPRICE SS STATION WAGON!

Yet when I go topless, I'm asked to "please leave the Macaroni Grill." I don't get it.
