"The WHO would not allow this administration to happen if you were being used as guinea pigs." - a Comoros doctor

You do realize that the CV you have posted lists Dawkins last substantial paper as having been published thirty years ago, right? That's exactly what Wilson is saying. Or is that your point?

Sick robes.

It's not a "tube" per se, but it counts, right?

If it was socially acceptable, I'd wear robes all the time.

"I must be lucky because I haven't done anything wrong but I can understand why some men go mad and do horrible things."

How about we stop body-shaming people in general? It should not be acceptable to mock people for their bodies, even when they've done something worth criticism or contempt, because then you are just lumping in all the innocent people with the same issues with the guilty one.

I'm tired of the stupid, fat, lazy husband/father. NOBODY LOVES YOU RAYMOND, YOU'RE A PIECE OF SHIT. Usually paired with a waaaay hotter wife that loves him for the way....you know what? I don't know. That guy just sucks. He's just a big baby.

A Man is On A Mission to Save The World (or, perhaps, to Reveal The Truth) but his wife just wants him to stay home with the kids and forget about saving the world. Because men are about Big Important Things while women are just about being cozy and comfy. Often the wife leaves the man, with the implication that his

The asexual non-threatening stereotypically clownish "gay best friend".

We are incredibly attracted to each other but we're BEST FRIENDS so we can NEVER DATE! We will just pine for each other until it gets so damn stupid we have to go out.

Other than the fridging trope, the one that jumps out at me is the "Magical Negro", where a person of color is basically there just to move the white protagonist's plotline alone.

The big, black noble savage. Not good at science or romance but good at having the white guy hero's back, but not when something offends their honor.

The mother always being the one who dies in movies and TV (Disney and Superheroes being the worst). It's so boring to see it now to the point I switched off the Flash pilot when I saw it was going down that root (and re-watching it showed me I wasn't missing much). Not to mention it's bad the same way WIR is as the

What trope do you find so offensive that you feel it should be put out of its misery—at least for a while?

I mentioned over on the Jezebel thread though...isn't it great that the worst episode in a long time was still not a terrible episode? This was still infinitely more watchable than almost anything from season 2 or 3. It makes me happy that even the bottom of the barrel has quality now.

Beth figures this out, but I don't see this having any ramifications later.
