Days has always been the campiest of the shows, though — there was definitely a lot of grumbling about this spinoff, but I don’t think much of it was about drag queens or gay kisses (in fact, it seems like the Will and Sonny storyline was one of the only ones widely enjoyed).

Yeah, the drinking thing has to be the story at some point here, right? I mean she’s drinking first thing in the morning, was pounding beer at work because she was bummed. Speaking of which, I spent almost all of Finley’s scenes screaming “YOU’RE AT WORK” to the screen. (Something tells me she didn’t, in fact, “lock

This is more like crisis bonding, right?

That’s where I knew the PhD student from, thank you!

The Voyeurs was, unfortunately, a thing I forced upon myself last night. It was batshit awful.

I would assume this is why people are commenting less and less, though? It’s certainly why I am, and also why I visit the site less often. It’s depressing. It’s been ages.

I think it’s the underlining that’s the sticking point.

Well, she certainly thought so!

Yes, that’s my issue -- not that I don’t believe Tripp’s this terrible a person, but that there would be so little nuance to it that Monica would be sucked in and telling major secrets within moments of meeting her.

I still think the book is far better than the series. But not good source material for television.

I usually love Nicole Kidman’s shaky accents, they’re sort of part of the whole charming artificiality of whatever alien goddess she’s usually playing (or just is). But here it’s really undermining the story, since I just don’t buy that these people would be enthralled or trusting.

The book was decent, I can’t help but feel like they were hoping it’d be as good as the first Big Little Lies season’s adaptation from the book. It also might’ve just been a good pandemic opportunity -- pretty isolated and safe, small cast.

I’m glad this led you to look and hope that it might lead to some relief!

I’m so glad Monica was an EP on this.

Yeah, I feel like Tripp is... I don’t know, I was saying during the episode that if this weren’t a true story, we’d be saying the writing for Tripp is one-dimensional, too easy, needs nuance. Maybe she was this overtly awful at all times, but it feels unlikely that was as simple as this version suggests. Sure, drama

I’m not even sure I understand how the phrase is being applied here — the show paints Linda Tripp as a massive monstrous shit-tastic villain. So I guess the “rethink” only applies if someone went into this thinking she was decent?

And a new episode of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu, featuring more Sting (and less bulldog).

Yep, she’s an employee who asks to abandon a shift because she needs to see where her flirting is going, I think it’s okay to treat her like she’s annoying! She is!

I agree about Tess. They’re always using the “she pretends she’s talking about this one thing but we all know she’s talking about the other” device with her but it rarely tracks.

Yeah, I didn’t realize a minor could donate a kidney.
