I’m wondering how other people felt about the book - my previous impression was that she was writing nonfiction and in looking for an ending for her book she realized she should write fiction? (Since she was imagining different fictional endings to write)

Well, that sucks! I loved The Other Two.

Ah, the Beverly Hills, 90210 series finale, sadly not on streaming anywhere (much of the series is, but not the end because of music rights). It aired the same night as my grad school commencement and I was so depressed - those both falling on the same day felt like it really was time to finally grow up.

If you’re super-attached the book/movie endings, you might feel a little frustrated that it doesn’t quite get that far. But it does stand on its own and has a fairly satisfying ending.

They didn’t get to the end of it, though. I kept waiting for that fun ending but it didn’t really happen.

It takes a bit to find its groove, but it’s enjoyable enough. Their attempt to make it queerer was sort of misplaced, though (i.e., it wasn’t wrong to make the lead bi, but they picked the wrong exes to expand its queerness, if that makes any sense)

Ha! Fair.

I’m not sure they’ll ever address it but I do think it’s deliberate — a little bit of “if you think you’re innocent of ever crossing boundaries, think again.”

That was friggin’ terrifying!

Yes, I was going to say -- I don’t think she was withholding vitriol toward married men!

Yes, plus the father/son issue.

Particularly in the final two seasons, absolutely.

I would imagine the cast of Schitt’s Creek agreed to submit that way to avoid competing with each other.

I think the Emmys have a bad habit of nominating only dramedy actors in the Comedy Acting categories, you know?

I get pissed, too! The other day someone was talking about Lifetime movies about domestic abuse and someone else responded with “wow, that’s interesting since obviously when mentioning Lifetime movies, most people would think of the rom-coms!” What rom-coms??

I had the most complicated Who’s-on-First-esque conversation with my girlfriend the other day about the Vivica A. Fox movies since they’re all The Wrong...[Insert Word here]. I kept trying to explain that I’d just seen that Fox did her 18th movie in The Wrong franchise, when I’d told her recently there had been at

They did get some good establishing shots of Philly and a lifetime (whoa!) supply of PA license plates not long ago, so that’s always fun.

Close — all-white-but-one writers room, so still pretty bad, especially considering some of the characters and topics.

Holy crap! I just re-watched it. Had not noticed one bit of that. Wow.

I think her friends were the Greek chorus, a little bit. They had huge compassion for her even when she was being exhausting, but were obviously concerned and mortified by her obsession and vitriol, and then finally turned on her completely as witnesses for the prosecution. I liked that device.
