Naw, they know what to do with it. Its jist that dealers take a hit on the bread and butter stuff so they can move them. When something exciting comes along people are willing to pay MSRP let alone ADM for dealers price accordingly.
Kia: Behold the Stinger, attractive, high performance car at a good price!
Hey...
You’re absolutely right. They got me with that line and I probably should have done things differently. However, at the end of the day I managed to get out of a bad deal by getting into a different car when the opportunity came up. I mean paying 1.5x the price for a GTI wasn’t a really good idea.
There is no such thing as 2 to 3 standards, that is political jargon.
They’ve touted their zero-landfill schtick for years...including partnerships with the National Parks Service.
Counter point. 90% of the reason Subaru is successful is because of marketing... their brand is a lifestyle brand.
States generally speaking can go above and beyond Federal regulations. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have both Federal and State consumer protection agencies, for one example. Just because commerce has crossed states lines does not mean that the states have no say in the regulation of that commerce within that state.
In reality we’ve had two different regulations for decades: Federal and Cali+13 other states. I am curious to know how their customer base would respond to their decision to side with the Trump administration, or if they truly care at all.
Large, centralized and pooled test drive centers could handle this while still having a much smaller footprint than normal dealers. One presumes service centers would still be necessary, so locate them there.
1st: There’s actually a very cogent argument to be made in favor of one unified standard, and I’m glad that GM, Toyota, et al are making it. Realistically, increased economy standards without corresponding gas tax increases are subsidizing people to live further afield. That drives massive suburban sprawl, egregious…

Listen, I agree with the sentiment, but why do folks think the G/O dickwads are reading the comments at all? I’m hard pressed to believe they have even visited Deadspin, based on the ridiculous staff requirements that were leaked...
