Ireland beat NZ in rugbyman in Chicago the week after the World Series. First win ever and they played for the first time >100 years ago. A long litany of misery and missed chances ended a week after the Cubs

My driving test in Boston consisted of driving once around the block.
Which, incidentally is one of the things that pisses me off so much about watching soccer. In rugby, one person, the captain, is allowed to talk to the referee. Anyone else mouths off and they are sent to the sin-bin. How that rubbish is allowed (and it is clearly tolerated) is beyond me. It adds nothing to the game
That’s a different issue. The question here is whether an internal exam should be part of the routine exam in a child and that is absolutely not the case. If abuse is suspected, then the child needs to be examined but by someone who knows what they are doing under very carefully controlled circumstances. It is never…
I was coming here just to mention this. It was so egregious. A horrifying mistake by the referee. As someone else said, the margins are so tight in soccer that a single goal can help decide who is going to stay up or go down.
Nope, nope, nope. There is no such thing as a cursory internal examination of a child and there are almost no medical reasons for doing one and it is never part of the routine examination.
It would take 20 years for a decent sample. There are about 1000 intentional walks each year and a screw up every few years on average. Seriously, instead of watching the few “good” examples, I dare you to watch all of the intentional walks in the last 20 years and see how long you continue to think it should be kept…
Agreed. I love going to San Diego in January and seeing all the Southern Californians complaining about how cold it is and that that they have to all wear jackets.
Yes, I did that in Boston for two years. Better for traffic too if you’re going against the flow.
Agreed. Utter dross that my wife refused to keep watching and I would have been happy if it had been twice the length. Perfect Friday night, drink in hand, chill-out crap.
Criminally underrated. Although the fact that I liked it even before I found out that it was satire says a lot about me
It’s 1am, I have work in the morning and I can’t stop watching this. It is so awful it’s good.
No way he was stopping that shot. He didn’t even see the idiot until the second ball rolled past him
Politico left wing? So you must get your news from Der Sturmer then?
Agreed. I make it a point to be at home for dinner every evening with my wife and kid. My productivity may be suffering but my daughter knows what I look like (I also get her up in the morning).
As you are almost certainly well aware, Obama did not permanently ban refugees from Cuba. He ended the policy that any Cuban who made it to the US was automatically entitled to expedited permanent residency. Cubans can still claim refugee status but they now have to go through the same process as everyone else. Except…
I am with you there.
Notice the guy with the blue gloves holding his chin all the time. He was keeping his airway open. If he had not just received a terrible punch, they may have turned him on his side but I get the sense that this is a much better option if there is any risk of a neck injury. He could see that he was breathing and just…
Agree, H&R block for the simple person like me (even with a wife and kid) was free for both Federal and State this year. They keep trying to upsell you but there’s really no need if you are a renter and are taking the standard deduction.

The difference is that no-one outside the US really gives a damn about basketball and definitely doesn’t care about American Football. As a result, the teams are able to collude to come up with various ways to limit the incomes of the best players (see - “salary cap”). The reality is that LeBron James is way underpaid…
