I heart the hydraulic press channel.

Something I learned today: In the Soviet era, the government wanted to suppress Christmas. It didn’t work, people kept celebrating anyway. So they coopted it and called it a “New Year’s Celebration”. They had New Year’s trees, New Year’s presents, New Year’s ornaments. Santa Claus became “Father Frost”. It was helped

I’ve been following this French Chef on YouTube, and one thing that he often adds to his stocks is onions pierced with cloves. It seems brilliant.

Really, I keep seeing all these hagiographies, alongside bitter condemnation. People can be GOOD AND BAD AT THE SAME TIME! Why is that such a difficult concept?

It’s a male, so it’s a steer. A cow is a lady.

Gotta have some green bell pepper in there, too, and it’s a sandwich that is greatly enhanced with mustard and cheese.

Okay, that’s a sexy EV. I always wonder about the practicality of having one in Minnesota. I would assume below zero weather would really crap on the range.

I’ve been told by numerous sources that if you eat a bread & vegetable & spice mix cooked inside a turkey, you will die.

The Palm Prē came with this in 2009.

There’s a regional brand in Minnesota called “Heggie’s”. A lot of bars serve it exclusively as their bar food. Lots of sauce and cheese - pretty much the closest thing to a pizzeria pizza you can get frozen.

Thing is, they’re pretty tasty when they’re fresh and warm, but when they cool off, they’re like pretty much any other chocolate chip cookie. And then you’re lugging that bucket around the fair for the rest of the day.

Portion sizes in the States are huge. I’m in my 50's and can’t pack it away like I could when I was in college. I almost always order with a nod to whether the food will microwave well. Some things (breakfasts, mostly) just can’t survive reheating.

Man, I hear you. In Minnesota we have Summit Brewing Company, which makes an Extra Pale Ale. It’s pretty hoppy, but not insane. My usual pints are Hells, Pilsners and Lagers.

I really hope they figure out how to have graceful exits for the non-returning actors’ characters.

I am so suspicious about introducing such a powerful character this late in the game. Heck, the Avengers almost took Thanos, if hadn’t been for Star Lord and Thor’s poor aim. Just worried that Captain Marvel will just be used as a Deus ex Machina.

I usually have a day-job, contracting as a software developer, but my side-gig has always been as a musician.

Christ, what an asshole.

When I was 16, hell ya.

The past tense of “plead” in regards to a declaration in court is conventionally “pleaded”, not “plead” or “pled”.

Same thing as collectibility in other items. Rarity and condition. Several things determine rarity - cone-tops are fairly uncommon, as are welded sides. Limited runs obviously have value, as do cans produced in small amounts for whatever reason. Other can designs have interesting stories behind them. Might be time to
