Probably not but she is absolutely killing it in Gaslit -- unbelievably good. The whole show is nothing but outstanding actors. It’s going to be up for major awards. If Dan Stevens doesn’t get one for playing John Dean there is no justice.

Portman isn’t an awful actor though, she’s a good one. It depends on the material she has which does mean she isn’t a great actor. Great actors can take the worst stuff and still deliver a good performance.

It absolutely is. For her (and everybody else) superheroes are commonplace, but she was thrilled to find out there were Egyptian superheroes. Also a nice nod to how representation matters.

Jared Harris is half Irish. His father, Richard Harris, was about as Irish as they come. He was born in Limerick, educated by Jesuits and very publicly supported the PIRA. He was also famous friends with Peter O’Toole — the Harris family wanted O’Toole to play Dumbledore after Harris’s death.

When “jokes” are made at the expense of a group that has a higher rate of being murdered simply because of who they are, then jokes at their expense are pretty much indefensible.

I think “half a brain” is the key phrase here. I live in a pseudo liberal college town in red country. Half brains are in short supply.

Interesting. My lawyer thoroughly explained the process of serving my ex with divorce papers, and I did give my input on not wanting him embarrassed by serving him at work.

That’s not necessarily true. It wasn’t when my ex had to be served with divorce papers. The law in that state required that a process server serve him. And I absolutely gave input on not embarrassing him publicly.
