She’s the one The View always pivots to when a legal statement has to be made on air. She’s ABC News’ senior legal correspondent and analyst — she’s a lawyer and has very good legal credentials. I think she’s easily the smartest one on the show. The others definitely show her a lot of respect, even that dipshit Meghan

Idk why you’re confused. You made no mention of how different GP is from Downton in it’s pov regarding the English Upper Class. I did. So far Fellowes isn’t nearly as biting in his take on aristocrats in this series, but he’s perfectly capable of it. I do think you’re 100% right about Fellowes ripping off Edith

This Mrs. Astor has to be Caroline Astor. Her husband was William Backhouse Astor Jr (he was the head of the American Astors and JJA’s son), and her son was JJA IV, who died on the Titanic.

Julian Fellowes wrote Gosford Park long before he wrote Downton Abbey. He knows well how to skewer the English upper class.

Julian Fellowes is the person who wrote Gosford Park which is a decidedly unflattering take on early 1930s English upper class.

If Fellowes is going to remain true to the era, I’d be really surprised if the scandal is a lesbian love affair. The show is set in 1882 and any society woman found in such an affair would not only lose her marriage, her children, her home and her income, every door would be barred to her, and not figuratively

His wife is a lady-in-waiting to Princess Michael? Oh jeez. She’s the bitch who wore the Blackamoor brooch to Christmas lunch at Buckingham palace in the presence of Meghan back in 2017 before Harry and Meghan were married. It was a truly astounding insult since blackamoors were the African slave servants of wealthy Eu

over 12% of Americans are Black, but fewer than 1% are mixed Black-White.

Black Americans are only 12% of the population.

Sonny Hostin’s almost always spot on and truly informed.

This isn’t the first time she’s said some seriously problematic stuff, although this probably one of the worse examples. She frequently gives some really out of touch vibe when the panel discusses stuff. You’d think she’d have learned something since the Ted Danson blackface fiasco.

Dude, you’re on an American site which is discussing an American show and two American celebrities, one of whom has a problematic history in regards to race and social issues (hint: it’s not Stephen Colbert). Did you seriously expect the United Nations?

Here you go. Btw, took me all of 30 seconds to find it.

Isn’t it obvious? A smoking AK-47.

Everyone’s expected to drink at a funeral even if they’re Baptist and have to do it in secret.

Sara Ramirez deserves more than just being a plot device to move Miranda’s character arc along. Honestly in its own way it’s as insulting as fridging the girlfriend.

Well there’s no arguing that TR was instrumental in ending the Gilded Age. He and FDR helped level the playing field, and Eleanor’s contributions cannot be under estimated. She pushed her husband to be more liberal and was very public about her support for the disenfranchised.

It was the real life Georges who earned the trust busting shellacking they got from Teddy Roosevelt when he, to the shock of the rest of the Republican Party, became president. The GOP shunted Teddy into the vice presidency to neutralize him. They never dreamed they’d just handed him the presidency.

You really think Cynthia Nixon had nothing to do with her terrible storyline going over at AJLT? Okay.

Cynthia Nixon, you do have plenty of television experience and I expected more from you.
