Disney doesn’t want to make interesting movies. They want to make money. Joker made 1 billion dollars on a >$100 mil budget. Enter: Cruella.

This is where I’m at. How do you look at a puppy killing, kitten drowning antagonist and decide to make a kid-friendly film about them?

I would argue that none of these villains needs a Joker Cruella-style spin-off.

I still don’t understand how you can humanize someone who wants to skin puppies for a coat. Like, unless she sustains a major head injury, develops Syphilis, or is revealed to have some deep-seated mental illness, I don’t see how this works. Demonic possession maybe?

This is a weird way to write that none of these characters need an origin movie.

Um?? I scroll through i09 articles while I’m at work. I’m having a hard time trying to locate new articles and work at the same time. I’ve found myself actually doing MORE work!! On a FRIDAY!!! Can you live with that i09?! CAN YOU?!?!?

Omega is very much feeling like the Scrappy Doo/ Deus Ex Clonia of the show. She exists to save the day in every episode, while disobeying orders.
She’s every bad child character rolled into one.

Still haven’t fixed the site yet? The format is largely unusable, especially for frequent visitors. I don’t even try visiting on mobile, so broken, but at work this is practically my homepage. I would be genuinely sad if this was my last day.

Is io9 dead? Are you guys getting Spanfellered? How hard is it to have a page that shows me the latest articles first?

This new io9 design is just the worst.

Nope, because that takes you to Gizmodo’s “Latest”, which is from a much larger pool of articles! They just don’t want people to only read io9, I guess, because they hate their viewership!

2 things:

I’d consider giving Superman & Lois a chance.  So far, Season 1 has been the best made-for-television Superman story in my book.  It’s well acted and well written.  It doesn’t have that “CW Look” to it.  It feels like they spent money hiring a good cinematographer and it shows.  It’s the only thing I have appointment

Huh. Wonder why you never started Black Lightning

I’ve been reading this site and it’s sister sites in the GMG group for 12 years. I’m aware of how they generally write their clickbait titles, but this one was so bad I had to call it out. I’m fairly certain she wrote the headline, as another line in the article makes the same outlandish claim.

But if you must round it up, 8.5 billion would be WAY more accurate than 9.

They used their prime account so shipping was free.

Where did I say anything about rounding down? Just call it 8.45 billion and leave it at that. Give the cashier $9 for your item that costs $8.45... what happens? You get the change, they don’t just round up the price to $9.

I’m not sure what Bezos being worth that much has to do with the author making a clickbait mistake?

Apparently not. Supposedly Mark Burnett owns all the footage and much of the rights on that. MGM and NBC apparently don’t even have access to raw footage.
