The Infiniti car with the same engine and RWD starts at 58,200, if you think the Z is starting anywhere south of 45k, you’re delusional. Only way it gets even close to 40k is if the offer it in both engines, the 300hp TT and the 400hp TT.

I just looked up YTD sales through June for Small/Mid size Cars, and then the Small/Mid size SUV’s from Chevy and Ford.
