Yup. All insulin pump wearing diabetics deserve to die. Obviously this is exactly what I meant.

You even give a couple of exemptions where the kid might have a condition that they heal from. So someone who is on a ventilator, but is congnitively aware and able, has no life? What about someone on a feeding tube, because they can’t swallow? Where is your line?

At this point the doctors would be treating him for scientific advancement. Essentially it would be a  human trial paid for by the parents. These parents are crazy if they don’t see that and let their child die with dignity instead of being used.

I am so incredible sorry for your loss and the terrible treatment you have endured because you kindly let your little girl be free.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t even imagine how desperately low of a person someone has to be to make an accusation like that.

It is so astoundingly inappropriate for him to have said anything at all. From a purely statecraft perspective, he’s trying to intervene in the internal court system of an ally!

I am so sorry for your loss and for how horrible people were to you for making the best choice you could for your daughter. Sometimes the kindest thing is to let go.

Honestly, we treat our pets better than this...the kid has zero chance of any sort of life...he’s basically a vegetable...this is why doctor’s need to have the power to stop parents from spending limited resources on cases where we all know the outcome...it’s sad, indeed, but 1.7 million dollars could save thousands

It is desperately sad for his parents and it isn’t something anyone should have to go through. But.... they have fought Great Ormand Street tooth and nail on what is best for their child. Not them, but their son. Their (frankly bonkers “Charlie’s Army”) have threatened hospital staff, threatened to storm the

Bingo. There’s no chance for a meaningful recovery and the child is in pain and will continue to be in pain. The parents’ decision is about what’s best for them, not the child. Which is why there are boards for advocating for the patient in the UK.

I agree completely. It’s hard. Terribly hard...but if your body can’t keep you alive due to a terminal non curable or treatable disease, then you should not be alive.

I read elsewhere that the experimental procedure the parents want (which has not even been tested in mice) would have zero chance to improve his brain function even in the most miraculous of best-case scenarios. This is Terry Schiavo all over again. The brain matter is irreparably damaged, full stop.

It must be hard to let go of loved ones, but this money could go to research or to help sick children the world over. I especially feel sorry for the mom as mitochondrial diseases are passed down through the mother.

She should have quoted Michael Bolton.

Hey, how about HE can move if he doesn’t want to sit there? For fuck’s sake.

So let me get this straight, the man, who had the problem, didn’t ask to move seats, he instead asked the elderly woman be moved? What sort of new ass hattery is this?

Guys are so stupid. This lady is having a pretty traumatic breakup and here is this douche waiting in the wings. “Oh, yes in your hour of need you can come and stay with me! Here is a pic of my ween!” He BF had probably been saying you were just waiting in the wings for years, and one big fight and a photo later

You’re almost all the way there between these two snippets.

Sadly, I can tell you that men over 30 still send unsolicited dick pics with depressing regularity. Over scrabble-type apps, even.

Alternative theory - you were a brief emotional vacation from her relationship. Your dick was a rude awakening.
