I helped build about 75+ of these LS/S197 mules about 12 years ago. They used a donor Lincoln LS with an S197 nose, hood, cooling, drivetrain, and fuel tank. It was a fun project.

The platform they used morphed into the Mustang platform ..
The LsX. Passed around so much it has diseases.
The LS was the test mule for the 4.6 that would eventually be in the Mustang that was supposed to share the chassis.. The problem was it could not easily fit when on the production line (from the bottom).
I own a gen 2. They are ok.
How long until you work through the surplus of Pontiac gauges?
I'm always in favor of the legal system when it comes to getting your money back. Ain't nothing like a well-litigated suit to make a dealer sorry they ripped off the wrong person.
except youre wrong. i was the service manager for a shop that specialized in BMWs and Mercedes. the ONLY decent w220 was our owner's 2006, and that doesnt mean he didnt spend thousands and thousands keeping it on the road. they are utter pieces of shit, and even when things break that are normal to break at that…
10 stars for this comment PLEASE. Not only is it true, but it's literal.
Reading delusional articles about Plain Jane W220s being reliable and a good buy is getting a little old. Why don't you move on to something else unreliable like an A8 or Phaeton. Switch it up a bit maybe?
> W220
if you think that is the sole thing that makes an S class unreliable, then i dont even know what to say to you. everyone reading this, take it as a satire, these are the worst cars a human could possibly own. do not ever buy for any reason ever
2nd for Bentley Continental, I've thought long and hard about how to make that work. 200 mile daily commute, comfort is important right? but in the end I drive a TDI
I came here to suggest an H1, think of all the possibilities...
Two awful, horrible, unrepentantly bad cars. I like it.
Because Racecar
And then cry like a DeMuro when your first visit to the mechanic makes a hole in your economy, now and in the future. Stick to the Corolla, any mediocre mechanic can fix it.
I bought my 2009 E92 M3 in Space Gray 6 years ago. I ordered it with every option. Sure the options add some weight but with the power the car has, it's not noticeable. I've tracked mine a few times to really enjoy the car...truly amazing on the track. After 6 years I've managed to keep my M3 pristine with now only…
The Cutlass Ciera is a timeless design
True on 75 period....not just north of Saginaw. Heck, 75 between Toledo and Detroit is the frigging Indy 500. Many people do 90 on that stretch. I've never seen a cop on that entire 50 mile run in over 20 years.
