Thought she was Cristina Aguilera for a minute.

Changeling/doppelganger scary stories are some are some of my favorites. Know the topic is kinda out there, but I think there’s something too them. I listen to a podcast called Jim Harold’s Campfire, and he has some great stories. Makes you wonder. I think the world is much weirder than we know.
Would you include people like Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lawrence in that?
Sure, but do you think you’re being a bit dismissive of his point? This whole “you don’t get it” mindset is hugely problematic in my opinion. When people say that, in any context, the implication is that their opinions aren’t worthy of consideration because they’re incapable of being able to understand what’s being…
It really is a difficult line to walk. Think of all the times you read articles or hear women talking about not wanting to be bothered at bars, etc. I completely understand where women are coming from when they say stuff like this, but it does make it trickier for men when it comes to approaching women. If I start…
My point was less a commentary on your post, and more of a statement on how Bill Clinton gets a free pass.
Serious question, if Democrats are the feminist choice (not disagreeing with you that they are...but then again, when the Republicans are the other option that’s not a high bar), what are we to make of Bill Clinton?
I thought It Follows was incredibly boring as well. I liked the Babadook quite a bit, but to be honest I found the idea of having that boy as a child more terrifying than the actual monster.
What exactly do you want him to do? He has no real power over the President, and I don’t think he has enough money to put real pressure on GOP politicians. Publicly condemning Trumps seems like one of the best things he can do.
Yep. Speaking for the 6's, I’m offended.
How could anyone in Hollywood not have known? I don’t buy that Clooney, Streep or anyone who has been in Hollywood for an extended period of time didn’t know about the rumors. Shit, I remember hearing about them years ago, and I’m not exactly in the movie business.
“though I am getting reeeeeeeally tired of so many women playing bots or prostitutes overall.”
Yeah, I don’t get some of the criticisms that this wasn’t marketed to women. Like, I don’t really know what that means. There are prominent female roles in the film, and the themes/messages are universal regardless of race/gender/religion. I liked it a lot, found it moving and thought provoking (even if I have some…
really what “needs a sequel”? I feel like this had as much reason to exist (honesty, more so) than any of the sequels made to current films.
“There’s one scene where Gosling is taking drone footage of these giant statues of naked women. It’s a solid 3 minutes of literally giant tits and asses filling the screen. Not too subtle.”
Don’t worry too much about Warners. From what I read, they’re only on the hook for domestic distribution costs. Sony and Alcon are the ones that are going to take a bigger hit.
There was some schlong too. For whatever reason, the nudity in here felt far less gratuitous than the nudity in something like West World. It felt tasteful in a way. The parts that felt a bit exploitive struck me as a commentary on media/advertising.
Yeah, I’d definitely recommend seeing this on the biggest screen you can, with the best sound system possible. It’s worth the admission price for the visuals alone. It really does just look beautiful. It felt like the most expensive art film ever made (I mean that in a good way), and based on the box office…
Do you think, perhaps, that quote regarding FBI has less to do with people demonstrating against police brutality/Trump/etc, and more to do with actual poltically inspired acts of violence, like this; https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/09/01/kill-all-white-people-did-a-suspected-kansas-city-killer-…
Immigration has always been under the authority of the federal government (because it relates to the nation as a whole), so your “states right” question isn’t really that applicable.
