We owned an automatic 2005 TSX. She liked it so much, she found a 2013 anniversary edition last year, and sold hers with ~100K on the odometer for about $6K.

Super Cruise? Intrigued.
Driving a road going oil tanker? Not at all... what a pain.
A V-performance version of bargiest land barge ever? Good lord no.

All of those would look better with 2 more inches, PLUS that wheel sidewall size.

18s for sure - for all the reasons stated in the article, except the math and aesthetics actually work out - not just for 1980s lowriders and Marty McFly.

Bicycles make sense. There’s no cornering force on the tires, because the whole bike leans, keeping the force vector straight down the tire (or else you’d fall off, actually).

I actually like the blue, although the wheels are a disappointment. And that “retirement tan” interior is another let down, although in a Porsche like this I might be able to overlook that.

In a way it’s nice - it’s in great shape for a 1980-something, it has nice hard bags, has a size that would make for a great daily rider, and with that 750 it’s at least as powerful as today’s 600's.

I am 100% with your suspicion that “there must be more to the story”...

To be fair - the Fiero had a legitimately innovative space frame chassis unlike almost anything else. They were also mid-engine. There was a lot to back up the hype - really it was the wimpy iron duke 4 banger that caused disappointment, and to some degree it was self-sabotage on GM’s part (much like Porsche holding…

I realize it’s probably enough to have doubled this thing’s price...
...but if it had a 125hp gas motor plus a 75hp-100hp electric motor in there (maybe based on battery option), it would have been a proper hot hatch - but not with any less than that.

That’s just the trigger for the stupidity test.

What a silly concept, supply-and-demand!

80% of the world doesn’t tow or need to haul busted up concrete. Yet 100% of the world needs to buy a behemoth and live with all the limitations on daily life, eat all the extra expenses, perhaps never actually ever learn what “fun driving” can be - just so they can have a bed.

I wouldn’t say “poser”, but it’s definitely “OPP” other people’s project.

The only thing awesome about this car is that it rocks a blue interior.

I see sarcasm but:

This was WAY before computers made good shifting decisions (and even today - the bad ones still outnumber the good ones).
...this one doesn’t even have a sport mode to let you hold a gear or manually shift.

And I commuted for years in a stick. Traffic jams aren’t bad.  You don’t think about it.
