That bad respray is the big clue here... It could be hiding Bondo Ben’s worst bodywork, especially if that terrible overspray paint job is any sign.
And who’s to say the quality of the engine rebuild is any better?
Why would they get THAT far, then not finish the restore?
There’s lots to be suspicious of...
It’s an OPP,

It’s a shame since I really want to love this car...
But makes me wonder what roadblock caused the owner to get THIS far with a restoration, then bail? Rather than complete it at least to a point where they could capitalize on what they’d invested? ...because this, ain’t that.

So... I’m a classic VW fan. First car was a ‘73 Super Beetle, as a kid.
Been planning on picking up a clean one, and doing a Subaru swap - they fit right in, and 250HP in a 1700 pound car is great street fun.

This thing looks great now, inside and out.

“In general, it seems like nearly all cars are getting harder and harder to see out of. Modern designs call for smaller windows, higher beltlines and thicker pillars.”

Where to start?
I’ll take buttons over a touch screen any and every day.
Those ones in particular... are just... buttons. NBD.

I had a KLR 650 and loved that thing. I had some soft bags that were easy to slap on and off, and a net for my luggage rack... was so great running out for lunch, or even groceries, and being able to haul stuff back. The Jeep of bikes.

I know you are wrong, because I passed up buying one for my first motorcycle - specifically because of the automatic (which was what originally had me checking it out).

I don’t hate it, but...
That ‘techno violet’ screams “nineteen ninety something”, when metallics had to have flake, pinpoints of dated sparkle.

It’s a nice price.
1995 is a bit old, and there’s no “cool” desirability factor that would triple that $2500 value (like a Harley or a Hyabusa), but that’s a bigger (yet not insane) motor than you’d get with a 600cc crotch rocket or 600cc cruiser or 650cc enduro.
Honda reliability with a dash of practicality? Great for

Get real, Harley.

I absolutely fell in love with this the more that I looked at the pics...
I understand the absolute unicorn status of “this car, this new, this nice”.
...but $19K? I have to break out my “what if this went across a Mecum stage” sanity check - I don’t think it would hit $19K.  I doubt it would hit $15K.

It’s not even worth trying to listen to on YouTube - even if you have it fed straight into a high-end powerful home audio system.

There’s mouth-breathers out there dumb enough actually pay $80K for a truck! It’s real!
Most (all?) of them would need loans to do it.
Many (most?) of them would do that without having savings to float them a few months - effectively living paycheck to paycheck.... driving an $80K truck.

For which we fell into the trap. Clearly you are still in it.

There’s not a nut or bolt of humble on a Mercedes.

Looks just like the concept??

Leather is the WORST interior option - and there’s not even an option to NOT get it???

There’s no noise restriction in autocross!

Two things:
