There is no conceivable way that they would be able to get a a play run with a second left. People are incorrectly assuming that officials do not start the clock until the chains are set, that is not true. The clock begins running when the ball is made ready for play.

They would probably come out ahead if they just watched TV. Even at $0.50 a mile (lower than the 2019 standard but easier to calculate) you would break even at 40 miles and then start losing money after that... clearly easily to do within three hours. Also... doesn’t even account for your hours worked.
