I don’t understand the folks upset at the administrative leave. In every profession, if someone under your immediate supervision DIES... you would have an immediate investigation and you would be sitting at home.

The runner is allowed unimpeded access to a base unless a fielder has the ball or making a play on the ball. If the fielder is making a play on a ball (not an initial play on a batted) then it is just a collision and that sucks for all involved.
