I wonder if they asked Butzi Porsche for input too?

It’s cool but LS swapping a G body is no more difficult than LS swapping an F body. It’s already an RWD GM V8 platform. True crazy is trying  to stuff a supercharged LS into a Fiero.

eek! I can get a nice JDM van for $10k including shipping to Portland.  A 4x4 HiAce would run a bit more and a camper hits almost $20k

We had a similar issue with the local Audi dealer denying a loaner because our daughter had aservice dog. Since the dog is a professionally trained diabetic alert dog a complaint to the DoJ resulted in a stiff talking to and a policy change. Of course this took several months so the immediate fix was to let my

My recollection is that DeLoreans didn’t have this issue so either DMC specified a more rust resistant alloy or they used a protective coating. Anecdotally I used to work with a guy who daily drove a DeLorean in the late 90s so I saw it regularly.

It speaks to Tesla’s phone app approach to engineering that they didn’t realize they specced a grade of steel that rusted until early release.  It also speaks to the slavish devotion of the CyberCucks that their response is don’t let your supposedly indestructible truck get wet.

I only view TikTok through the filtering medium of Tumblr, which speaks to the toxicity of TikTok that it's safer to watch via the legendary hell site than directly

It's reasonable compared to what people ask for old VW campers but I can get a Toyota HiAce for similar money with more room and the unkillable diesel.

The Element prices have inspired others, here's one on my local CL asking $13,500. https://bend.craigslist.org/cto/d/bend-2005-honda-element-76k-miles/7716685345.html

The 80s was when cars, emerged from the Malaise Era. Downsizing had happened, and most manufacturers had figured out emissions controls and engine management. So a lot of 80s cars were good but a number were still bad. For every Peugeot 205 GTI we have a Hyundai Excel. The Camaro IROC-Z has the Cavalier as an evil

No, the Montero and the Dodge Raider were definitely in the US in the 80s competing with the Isuzu Trooper.

SCCA production class allows modifications and even in Showroom Stock a properly optioned Pinto was competitive. Here's Don Sherman from  Car and Driver on the subject

TikTok should be viewed for entertainment purposes only.

yeah, yesterday some idiot in a Ford Super Duty was driving around with just an LED light bar turned on in the middle of the afternoon.

That’s an astute reading of elite preferences, I should see if my local whole Foods or Market of Choice have Superchargers.

Captain Burke heading into a storm and sinking sounds a bit like Captain McSorley and the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Thank you for posting the world's only fresh water aircraft carriers.  As a footnote the USN also had dedicated training ship for catapult launched floatplanes. USS Absecon was a seaplane tender fitted with the catapult and crane from a Cleveland class cruiser.

“reduce, reuse, recycle” I’m not sure what he means by lithium in 7 series alloys since 7000 series aluminum alloys us zinc, magnesium and copper with 7075 being the most common airframe alloy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7075_aluminium_alloy?wprov=sfla1

I used to joke with a club member that leaning a 'wing more than 5 degrees was an automatic expulsion from the GWRRA. His GL1500 had ground down footboards from spirited cornering.

I think that was originally a Morris Marina part that was also used on the original four door Range Rover and series I Discovery. BL was always short of cash and tried to reuse door handles and switchgear. That’s why the classic Landrover Defender uses Sherpa van door handles so LR didn’t engineer and original door
