The old Aurora AFX HO scale slot cars worked pretty well but cost real money.  Their secret was magnets in the chassis that were attracted to the track. I had some old school 1/24 scale cars for commercial tracks as an adult, those could wicked fast but I goofed setting up my JK chassis and it ate drive gears.

The first mistake was choosing Baltimore for a date night. The second was trusting the valet. The likelihood that the carjacking was made up is high but the idea of the robber robbed is amusing.

The crazy thing is that for these people it was the wildest boat ride ever, but for a motor lifeboat coxswain it was Tuesday.

Cragars are period correct for a car modified in the late 60s I’d be inclined to put on slot mags for a 70s look and repaint to a 70s style. This car is far from original so a period custom makes sense.

The concept is good but execution will be a challenge based on Vinfast’s previous US market vehicles. Poor quality will kill this deader than a Yugo built on a Monday. The size will be OK if buyers are realistic that this is an effectively two seat commuter and errand car and not a do anything car.

Hypeloop is not a typo :)

The Vegas Hypeloop is peak Gadget Bahn,  as evidenced by the colored lights and probably ruinously high cost per passenger mile.

The Boring Company tunnels are apparently short on ventilation and fire suppression measures as well as parallel access for emergency crews. It's how they maximize profits.

Having owned a Saturn SL2 for 15 years I can they drive nicely apart from some NVH. But I’m still ND because it’s the right mileage to have a leaking cam cover, which causes belt squeal, it’s also the right mileage for “Saturn reverse slam” from buildup in the valve body and worst of all, the differential pin of death

You could still commute by public transportation and reserve your car for weekends.  I did that for years, bike to train, train to work. Also consider whether your city could improve transit or have better laid out shopping to help with errands

Civil Asset Forfeiture needs to die in a fire along with Qualified Immunity.  Make asset forfeiture only permissible after a criminal conviction,  none of this BS put the object on trial heads I win tails you lose BS and make police and prosecutors criminally liable.

The first things that come to mind are any lifted trucks with a Bluetooth driveshaft and anything that’s a Scary Steering Page candidate. Also almost anything in the SEMA Fails Facebook group. It looks like there’s a ton ugly slapdash "builds" every year and they are getting worse

Dropside beds are cool and offer easier loading by forklift but at the expense of a very high load floor. Since we are unlikely to ever see lower trucks, perhaps it’s time to make a dropside with wheel wells to have a lower floor and side loading

Hearses are built on everything. I saw a photo of a group of Land Rover Series IIa hearses with air conditioning that were shipped to Libya in the 60s. There are also several motorcycle sidecar hearses for biker funerals.

Selling your birthright for a mess of pottage, or some really sweet bribes for the mayor and aldermen who will happily shaft the people in exchange for a Cayman Islands bank account.

The howling of outraged Tesla stans at the desecration of their holy Tesla is amusing. To claim touchscreen everything is “minimalism” is bovine excrement. Tesla interior design is peak form over function sacrificing the superior ergonomics of tactile controls on the altar of cost cutting while claiming it’s

Out here the default annoyance is straight pipe brodozer that shakes the earth, or an “overlander” van that blots out the sun. This splits by class of course, I live in a cheaper neighborhood so many trucks, some actually used for construction work and few vans. The fancy parts of town invert the ratio, many six

If you want lots of people and attractions, suck it up and pay the cost of a city. I have plenty to do in nature when I'm not in my garage and my occasional trips to Portland remind me why I left.

According to Zillow there's a 15 acre horse property with a large house and 40x40 barn with full utilities on the edge of Bend Oregon for $1.5 million.  You could pull off a kart track and there's OHV trails nearby

Will Mayor Adams be revoking NYC's "Sanctuary City" status?
