Considering that they both are well off enough that they no longer have to work at the back breaking career(s) to maintain their lifestyles and can transition to the same income from less time demanding NIL and broadcasting, that’s not a big ask.  These aren’t 20-somethings.

Generally speaking, aren’t most all movies these days the sort of hero’s journey you describe; all of them any more seem to have a second or third act set-back and then redemption at the end. I’m not pining for the good ol’ days, just seems to be the way it is.
