While I applaud your cheek in suggesting it, I really don’t know how you could do any of Banks’ convoluted stories in movie form without castrating them considerably. (I note I haven’t read all of the Culture stories, so I could be wrong here.)

I’d watch an adaptation of Excession. (The message board full of hyperintelligent Culture Minds trolling each other was the best part.)
