Better than the portrayal of the difficulties of being good is how the show highlights how someone’s environment can make them a bad person. Eleanor had shitty parents and shitty friends so she responds by being equally shitty. Tahani had even shittier parents (outright emotionally abusive vs. neglectful) and turned…

For the entire season she spends all her time trying to convince people she’s seen a few hundred times that she knows them and to bring her cocaine.

It is one of my favorite shows. I especially love Bad Janet. Her burns are always great.

The season 1 twist is still one of my go-to “This! This is how you do a plot twist while addressing other concerns from earlier!” things. The things Michael did that seemed like he wasn’t thinking too much, but it turns out it was a long con (e.g. leaving open the rankings of good points for Tahani to see).

The show is easily the best thing I’ve watched in years. I’m still amazed that they took the big season 1 twist and somehow ran with it so hard that they pretty much did it 800 times in the first few episodes of season 2! It’s a masterpiece of a show.
