honestly, i’m vaguely shocked that it’s not on here. seems like the exact sort of film that the avclub typically champions.

in college i used to try to make them at the starts of each season, as i felt that the changing weather really affected my song selection. this obviously, was supposed to be my fall mixtape.

i think upstream color should be top ten. although, i do kinda question calling it sci-fi.

needs more a scanner darkly. my personal pick for best pkd adaptation.

anthem for no state is incredible. i also love the list of demands attached to the album. “the expert fuckers who broke this world never get to speak again” is a gorgeous line.

the album version. the way i originally had the mixtape, it was supposed to be the cool down after good morning captain, leading to higgs boson blues, but slint was a victim of the trimming, so now it kinda floats there.

made a playlist for a mixtape, but i accidentally ordered 60 minutes cassettes instead of 90 minute ones, so after much painful trimming i came up with this:

oh fuck yeah. bone tomahawk fucking owned, so im deffo gonna check this one out.

ooo that ommegang sounds real good.

no not really

wonder woman did kind of suck though

i always think of the national as a midwestern band, because im in denial that a band that good could be from brooklyn.

i didn’t love coffee and cigarettes tbh, which seems off-brand for me. maybe chalk it up to how much i hate jack white.

i’m still very thankful for terry gilliam making a movie with tom waits as the devil.

i’ll surprise you sometime; i’ll come round.

it really is. i remember keith phipps in an old avclub video saying that his favorite 2011 moment in all pop culture was the line ‘i still keep my baby teeth in the bedside table with my jewelry’ and it’s kinda hard to disagree.

oh yah, plus i was listening to turn on the bright lights yesterday and now im listening to civilian (the wye oak album) which while not the stone-cold indie classic those other albums are, was something that really transports me back to being a junior in college.

i liked him as the crossdresser in dead man.

im gonna spend all day listening to show your bones, return to cookie mountain and apologies to queen mary and try not to be completely miserable.

is it fucked up that show your bones is my favorite yeah yeah yeahs album?
