I read this as saying that the people who drove these cars were more likely to have DUIs - it compared the ratio between the number of people with DUIs driving the cars against the total number of people who drove that car.  So it was adjusted for the number of total vehicles on the road.

because a Republcan Trump appointee is runnng the USPS and everything is broken and awful in the hellscape known as the United States.

That’s a lot of money that’s not going to the people that made it possible for Bezos to have the boat in the first place.

Spare us, dude. Bleeding hearts for the suffering mega-yacht industry?

China could literally strangle us to death if they wanted.

The main reason you don’t see wood anything in production cars is it’s not dimensionally stable. That means your wood pieces don’t fit the same from day to day. That’s fine if you’re hand-assembling each car but it’s not a good fit for automated assembly.

Oh please. Lile Ford or GM aren't notorious for pumping out garbage.

Exactly, the display will be sold for mounting in either orientation, so the OEM is required to specify which to use as part of their design process. Often this is done with a resistor across a particular pair of pads on the circuit board. The resistor might be bad, there might have been a soldering issue, who knows,

so there’s code in there to rotate the display 180 degrees in certain circumstances

It in the not too distant future it will be more practical to install solar panels and battery packs to power your house in the event of an outage.

Probably because carpet is better for sound insulation.

I mean, it’s cool. Sure. But dude had a garage. It’s not like he built it on the street or in a parking garage.

I mean, it has about the same range as a decade-old Nissan Leaf...

Great. You can be the one person that buys this thing.

I can’t believe I’m STRONGLY considering a Ford”

Destination, sure, but how would you add tax?  Every State is different.

The sausage croissant from Jack in the Box is probably the best fast food breakfast item I’ve had. Mostly because it just tastes like FOOD. Something you’d make at home. Not greasy, not heavy, just a sausage patty, fried egg, and cheese.

That’s only true if the taxpayer performs work in exchange for student loan forgiveness (and only to the extent such work performed). Otherwise, the forgiven loan balance is includible in gross income under Section 108(f)(1) and 61(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. So, it really depends on how the loan forgiveness is

I’ll add that our culture pretends like it rewards people who make the “right” choices. Sure, you might be a bum who sits around and watches Joe Rogan but at least you aren’t a drug addict! Sure, no one likes you but you have no student debt! You’re better than someone, somewhere, out there and that’s what counts!

Depends on the laptop and what you’re doing. I’ve got a XPS 13 and XPS 15, and the 13 doesn’t feel small while the 15 feels huge, circa 17" laptop days. My XPS 15 is my workhorse, but for just hopping between meetings at work, the XPS 13 wins hands down.
