Yeah, that quote made me wince a bit. Especially when it comes to Star Wars: I want to see a lightsaber power on again, not the lightsaber. I want to meet a new Jedi with new lightsaber designs and new moves. This is a pet peeve I had with the Sequel Trilogy: I don’t care about Anakin/Luke’s original lightsaber. It’s

It’s a bit of a holdover from an earlier generation. When some of us were young fans, there was no way to easily relive a favorite movie or TV show - if it wasn’t in the theatres, or on the TV, you couldn’t see it.

This is established in the first trailer released so definitely not a spoiler.

I thought this was in the very first preview?

TIL that Rolling In The Deep is a song people dance to.

I think making Wanda a villain is not the worst idea, actually. She’s already been a quasi-supervillain in the comics with the whole “no more mutants” stuff, and these movies tend to be only as good as their villains anyways, so why not put an already well-developed character in the star spot and redeem her a few

The justification is very likely “stretching powers look dumb as hell on a movie budget, and even worse on a TV budget (despite it being an MCU project).”

Seminal and influential as it was, I hope whatever iteration of Daredevil the next live-action version is inspired by is not Frank Miller’s. It’s not even the fact that chunks of it have probably not aged well, but I don’t think it’ll feel interesting given all the ways that time of comics has permeated superheros.

It is a complicated endeavor to take on this franchise, which means so many different things to different people.” ...Reitman also told us that, with Afterlife, he’s attempting to not only cater to fans of all types while linking multiple generations, but also set the table for the future of the franchise.

*See also James Gunn and James Wan for hints.

Yeah I don’t know. One, I don’t think he would make fun of a role he’d just cast in a way that belittles it.

They need to get someone other than that guy to talk about Black Adam. That, or make sure he’s been better coached. What I heard was: “Man, this guy’s gonna be edgy; like so fuckin’ edgy, you know? Somebody’s gonna walk up to him and BOOM! HEADSHOT!”

The Gang Dies of Preventable Illnesses

I will forever defend the Columbus movies. They’re faithful adaptations that don’t do much more (partially because the kid actors just haven’t come into their own, and also because the source material hadn’t yet matured past basic kid’s fantasy as well), but the thing they do that the back half of the film series just

Let ‘em know what they’re in for?

Nah, their single-week drip works great for D+. Stuff like Baby Yoda and “Agatha All Along” really took off when they had a week for everyone to discover it at the same time, rather than the Netflix saturation model of everyone watching it at once and feeling no need to discuss when they’re ready to move to the next

I love the running gag in “Who Got Dee Pregnant” where Dee is progressively more bird-like in each flashback, culminating with her being replaced by an actual screeching Ostrich in Mac’s recollection.

Captain Marvel made a billion dollars. And Endgame was almost complete by the time it released (they came out like two months apart). Carol’s role was modest in Endgame because she’s insanely overpowered, and for the time being it’s best to keep her on the sidelines and use her as a last resort, lest she become a

Dennis Villeneuve’s non-union Mexican equivalent?

I liked Dune. At this point I would watch anything Dennis Villanueva does. Dude has made some insanely good sci-fi movies
