Outriders’ “message” of nihilism is the equivalent of someone walking up to you and saying “your shoes suck”, then running away. You didn’t discuss it, they gave no reason why they hate your shoes or what about them they found offensive, and didn’t give you a chance to retort.

A message is talked about, it’s debated, it’s ruminated on, there are discussions to be had about a message. From the jump all Outriders ever says is “humanity fucking sucks”...if there’s no exploration of that it’s not a message, it’s just a stupid comment.

That’s where my irritation comes from though. The game is chock full of those kinds of moments, but it doesn’t seem to understand how to execute any of them.
