Many drag queens stable people.
The show jumpstarts their career and highlights their popularity, they volunteered and took the risk as adults. They are still doing what they love to do, which is drag. Much different from growing up and being restricted to do what they love to do.
The drag queens I follow (and I follow many) respect women and have talked about how it’s a celebration of the women they look up to or/and it’s a celebration of themselves in a more glamorous form. And it’s never the only thing being perpetuated....there are so many different kinds of drag queens who bring different…
Drag is done for many reasons, each queen being different. I see drag as these men showing us that dresses and makeup can be for everybody. It's not about being how we should be....men wearing dresses pushes those boundaries.
Drag queens look their the version they want to look like, what you think is shitty, they think looks good on them. If they want to wear a lot of makeup then more power to them.
