I’m late to the party, but this comment is spectacular.

“You are married? To a wife? Neat! You can bring her along, too.”

If the creative people with whom Anita Sarkeesian meets have so little conviction in their work that they wilt to her whims the moment she talks about what she values in the depiction of women in games, that’s on them, no?

Plus he is still pretty pissed about having his arching right for Dr. Venture taken away from him.

He’s a smart man most of the time, but he definitely can be myopic in his point of view. A side-effect of the milkweed, I think.

The “unrealistic” is what really got me. Like, noooo... this is incredibly realistic. Women are dealing with very similar shit right now worldwide.

I love my 4000 to death. It’s no gaming keyboard true, but the shape plus the padded wrist rests are just heaven.

Know what I want? A good quality, illuminated, mechanical keyboard.

fucking right though

“on one issue”

Better safe than sorry.

We are legion in Seattle.

I wonder how many parents change their mind about kids and can’t opine that cause it makes them look bad.

This was pre-Amazon. Picture a company that made billing solutions for cell phone switches pre-unlimited flat fee calling. They were just one of the fun-filled software companies that DH has worked for since we’ve been married.

We’re just outside of Seattle. DH works in the software industry. In other words, I would have been showing our potential baby a picture of Daddy because he was doing his usual 80-100 hour work weeks.

Actually, no. We aren’t well designed to walk upright, let alone run.

Preach! Literally everyone I’ve met that competed in high impact sports (running, gymnastics, etc) in their teens/20s is like a broke down porcelain doll in late 30s.

This post is a steaming heap of BS. The human body was not designed to run, and certainly not long distances on a regular basis. Jesus christ, take a fucking anatomy and physiology class sometime.

That really depends on how much distance you’re assuming the human body is designed to run. Certainly not 26 miles at a time. But, yes, it is designed for running in shorter bursts, and as one of our several means of moving long distances.

That is... objectively incorrect. All movement wears the bearing surfaces of your joints. Running does this more than walking which does it more than sitting... It isn’t “junk science” it’s simple mechanics...
