I love how in the previous SSB threads people were saying that nobody actually played like this. Now here there are numberous comments about tournaments running 20XX exclusively. It all comes full circle to when Melee first came out.

The smaller regional ones generally had this requirement. In Seattle our small local tournaments at stores set those roles. The bigger ones technically didn’t make this a rule, but you’d be harassed by players and people in the crowd if you picked any character otherwise. Final Destination is completely true though.…

Smash players are special snowflakes.

All I remember from the smash community before I quit tournaments was that they required all Fox on final destination. Nothing else was acceptable. Because those fragile man babies never wanted to have to deal with something unexpected because that’s not “fair”.
