@CaptainJack: That sounds like it would work in theory, but what about the iPhone? The battery manufacturers won't miss out on that.

The only way this thing will be attractive to me is if my phone comes with an inductive charger built into the phone itself, so I don't have to slap on a fat, ugly case on it.

@stan-the-man: Just a head-up...If you're using an iPhone without a data plan on AT&T, they can and will charge you the $30 data package if they find out what you're doing.

@Kevin Martin: Blackberry? You mean those ancient brick phones that run a watered down version of Windows 95?

@typhoon5000: The 3G iPhone doesn't come with multi-tasking on iOS4. That's only available to the 3GS and iPhone 4. Same situation with the background wallpaper.

@blehbleh13: Of course it does, you're streaming music via AT&T's nework. It's not as bad as streaming YouTube videos but audio streaming definitely takes up megabytes of data.

@Cromwell: I suppose you're right. Apple obsesses a little too much on smaller form factor when previous models were small enough already.

I'm pretty amazed by this. I repair iPods and iPhones, and Apple really tightened its design. The motherboard is now 50% smaller at least, and filled the empty space with a slightly fatter battery.

This is getting a little ridiculous

A real man don't need no stinkin' tellyphone to tell 'im 'iz meat's ready.

Just curious, why is the picture an iPhone 2G next to a Nexus One?

Well it certainly is purrty, and I'm glad I can grip it in one hand. The touchscreen (from the videos I've seen) definitely does not seem as responsive as it should be...

@TheloniousFunk: There was, back when no one knew that the new iPod Touch was going to be announced today :) The deal has been going on for months now.

@blehbleh13: Right. Which is why I don't understand the amount of commenters saying "I hate you Apple, how could you screw this one up?"

I find it hard to believe how many people are complaining about the new iPod Touch.

@Tommy L: Yes, that'd be pretty silly to have FaceTime without a mic.

@TheloniousFunk: Yes, you get a 8GB iPod Touch 2G. The offer expires next week.

All I can say is that Open Feint is toast.
