California tried to reform it’s Civil Forfeiture laws a couple of years ago. All the local Chief of Police came out against, because of the loss of funding. The whole system needs to be thrown out. 

Here is closer to home for you.

When California tried to change the law and put limits on asset forfeiture a few years back it failed because the Police Chiefs cried it would hurt their budgets. There are companies that in-service PDs how to do asset forfeiture.

You act like this is a problem. This is a feature of the Texas system, not a bug. Operating as designed. California had this problem 30+ years ago, now your vin is tied to the smog check. The smog check is done through the OBD connection. Much harder to cheat.

I am only surprised it doesn’t have a ‘Thin Blue Line’ sticker covering the Ford emblem. Just like every other Police cruiser that I see on the road.

What will they complain about if they address the problem?

I was born thanks to some (not)birth control foam and the rhythm method. It didn’t work in the 60's and it doesn’t work now.

Take every home that has solar, add a few panels, maybe a small vertical wind turbine, put a battery on the house. Instant capacity, very efficient, all local.  And you can still drive your electric car.
