One dude actually told me once that, while feminism may be good at its core, it spends too much time on such trivial matters as privilege and slut-shaming, but it just does too little to be friendly and welcoming to men. He was dead serious, I shit you not.

Children whose images are being traded for the sexual gratification of pedophiles. I'd say that's who we're protecting.

I agree. A girl can give head to a guy under the bleachers and he can be a dick and TELL everyone about it (see every 80's and 90's teen movie ever) or LIE about it, but there is no physical evidence that follows you. As much as I dislike kids with fancier phones than me, there needs to be a class in schools on proper

And it's a quick hop to adult predators paying teens to take the selfies and post them. If it's not illegal for them to do it, hey, new stream of legit child porn!

No. You can't take a naked picture of a 15 year old girl, WITHOUT HER CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE and distribute it on the Internet and expect a "oh kids these days," reaction with no consequences. Throw the book at these little fuckers.

We have to stop criminalizing teenage dumbassness.

She was two years younger than them, which might violate state consent laws (idk what those are in Michigan) PLUS they took and distributed it without her knowledge and consent. There's several good reasons child porn is the appropriate charge.

I agree - that's a consent issue for sure and should be punished. But I don't think child pornography is an appropriate charge, given the ages of everyone involved.

Yes, carte blanche is clearly the answer here. *eyeroll*

In situations like this though, where this girl was photographed and then it was distributed without her knowledge or consent, I don't have a problem with them facing punishment. That is wrong and exploitative behavior regardless of age.

Stop criminalizing a crime? Stop giving these teens consequences for their actions? I think that's the whole problem. Of course, the teen brain has not fully developed and for smaller offenses the sentence should not follow them into adult hood. But can you understand the weight the victim carries in this crime, the

Yeah, it's quite interesting, isn't it? That she advocates against female emancipation and equality while demanding that she be heard. If she took her own advice, she should be sitting meekly at home, and should have been all her life.

Yes, she looooved to gloat on the podium— "I know it'll make all those women's libbers mad out there, but I'm happy my husband allowed me to be here today!", etc.

I will never NOT tell this tale: I had DINNER WITH HER when I was in college, we were hosting a Roe V Wade debate. I drew the short straw and had to take her out while my friend took Sarah Weddington out.

It's called "fuck you, I got mine" and it is a defining feature of conservatism

Hey look at that, Serena Joy's talking again.

She wants to deny young women the choices that she had back when she was not so insane.

I agree. I thought Schlafly had gone the way of bee hives and three martini lunches.Something we giggle about. Who knew these views were still relevant to ANYONE?

The issue is incident, singular. She suggesting it's one event. It's not.

You can't possibly be this stupid.
