I honestly think I’d be happier with that mistake. Not that The Orphanage is not the clearly better movie, it absolutely is, but that it is incredibly heartbreaking and I don’t think I’m ever going to watch it again. Whereas I’ve see The Orphan at least 3 times because it’s so rewatchably stupid.

Huh? Weird possessiveness? The kid spends the majority of the film away from his mother. He only freaks out because Steve Carrell’s character is a massive asshole who is routinely cheating on her and she is completely oblivious to that fact, despite all the other massive warning signs that the dude is a piece of shit.
