Yes, the point of the article was that if you’re going to pay $800, get a Dell XPS 13, which has awesome build quality even at the starting price. Don’t get an $800 version of the Toshiba Satellite L55 which starts at $500 and is made of glossy plastic.

What I am trying to say is that, with $450 the average selling price, we should hold even a $600 or $700 laptop to high standards. You absolutely *should* spend more than $450, but get features that will actually improve your day-to-day
