“Snarky takes on the news” is a lot of fun, but I do think generally they published an article on a topic a fair bit after the story had broken, which means the traffic was probably a lot less. That’s not a criticism of any staff (I know how hard it is to toss out a passable article for breaking news) but it may be

Four countries. Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Turkey.

It’s worth noting this seems to come from the mind-vomit of Kurt Schlichter published at Townhall. This is another example of him parroting something he saw in far-right media.

I mean, Rooney isn’t a “minor” celebrity. Here in the US he’s not “wall-to-wall tabloid fodder” like he is in the UK, but a lot of people have brought him up to me since they know I’m a D.C. United fan. Unless that was more about the “influencer” part, but the sentence was a little unclear.

I’ve had that happen a few times. Once the reply button completely disappeared, though I could see comments being posted by others.

The responses to this post included show there’s plenty of other incredibly misinformed, ignorant, and racist people here who have only the shallowest knowledge of the conflict but think they’re qualified to lecture others on the complexity of international law and history.

Gods spare me from charlatans. You can’t even spell his name and you’ve got an incredibly shallow understanding that boils down to a couple of bullet points you probably got handed on a bloody flyer.

This is a weird hill to die on. A stupid one too.

Is this bastard really out of the greys, or is someone constantly pulling his vapid “I’m smarter than the dumb liberals on Splinter” posts out of the greys?

Lots of lies here, though to be fair you telegraphed them pretty obviously.

Yeah, the Israeli PR machine is incredible, and I say this as a strong critic of Israeli policies. The “they oppose Israel’s right to exist” line is a good example. There’s no such right! It doesn’t exist in international law. But prominent figures who should absolutely know better parrot that line uncritically. The

Yeah, like pretty much half the internet I’m pretty bloody skeptical. So someone who was a fairly important witness in a trial against a cop was an active drug dealer and that didn’t come up? The idea that he’d draw attention to himself like that is pretty farcical, let alone that there were no tips about his supposed

She’s been the worst I’ve seen, though it doesn’t seem like she’s alone and the replies to her truly awful bad-faith takes show that there’s a small but very loud group who agree with her.

“Don’t look for validation online” says the troll who trolls this website specifically to feed his ego so he can claim he’s so superior to the predictable liberals he disdains. Irony is as dead as your intellect.

Cherokee claims are so common, as is the “one of my ancestors was a Cherokee princess” myth, that American historians make jokes about it. It’s such a common question and myth that you’ll hear about it in undergrad.

I bet you’re liking your own comments.

For that region, in the early Bronze, there likely wasn’t anything larger. Circa 3000 BCE Uruk was probably the largest city in the world at roughly 50,000 or so, though that’s just an estimate. That’s in Mesopotamia, a fair distance from that part of the Levant.

I’m not too surprised. The transmission of a lot of the Mesopotamian (mostly Sumerian at the time) cultural complex to Egypt in the pre-Dynastic and Early Dynastic periods does imply that the cultural complex would have gone through the Levant and likely influenced the settlements there. That was happening hundreds of

No, you specifically are a troll. You come here to push your bullshit and then act aggrieved when people correctly call you a troll for your behavior. It’s utterly childish.

I really don’t doubt they’ll rule against LGBTQ rights. The real question for me is just how broad their ruling is. Will it be a huge shot across the bow for the far-right and the bigots eager to reclaim their privileges in the Trump era? Or will it be some narrow technical ruling that strips effectively strips away
