Shapiro is precisely the reason Americans need to destigmatize the word “c***” and adopt the British meaning (blocked out here because I don’t feel like getting derailed with the argument).

It’s disgusting the level of naked racism in right-wing media. Ilhan Omar is getting attacked left and right by every would-be goose-stepper today. Every right wing pundit, including a few who aren’t universally awful, have peddled the “homophobia” smear despite it being a clear lie.
You know, I’ve repeatedly seen agency spoxes write nakedly partisan messages on their official government accounts, which I’m fairly certain is illegal. The DHS spox just did it recently.
Wildly different in practice. It’s a crazy sport and well worth watching. Some version of it has been played in Ireland for a very long time, there’s references to it in various legends dating to the Early Medieval period. No clue how “iománaíocht” became “hurling” though.
Voters want authenticity. That was a part of Trump’s rise, though that’s a different segment of voters. This is a smart move. AOC is popular for multiple reasons, but one of them is she doesn’t have the “corporate sanitized utterly replaceable suit” personality that was normalized over the past couple of decades for…
Iranian propagandists are absolutely spinning up hyperbole on this, but it does seem like the US took her into custody and going mum about it is ceding the space to Iran to spread misinformation. The incompetence of this whole event is so frustrating. How stupid do your officials need to be to let Iran’s cut-rate…
The Problem Solver’s Caucus has generally been trash in the past, but in this case I don’t really think they merit any condemnation. They showed up, which is kind of their shtick (aka looking bipartisan) but didn’t budge according to the reports. The Trumpkins spun it to sound like it was constructive but that’s it.
Yeah, distasteful as it is I think that’s likely smart. Besides it forces the onus on the GOP to clean their own house, which is also good political messaging.
You know, people talking about her and her allies “creating a Democratic Tea Party” fundamentally misunderstand both the ideology of the Tea Party, the personality types, and the factors that led to their rise.
The greys are really full of people who object to me pointing out the well-documented bad faith conservative attacks and who have commenting histories that actually prove my point.
After years of ignoring or even defending him. I suppose you get a tiny amount of credit for doing the right thing very, very late.
That’s generally my view, but I don’t know her mind. She has rejected his views, and it’s an open question whether a more forceful wording from her would actually diminish the criticism against her at all. I have some doubts that it would. The core of this is political posturing more than honest concern over bigotry…
I am correct in that. This entire controversy is being fueled by well-funded conservative pressure groups, including a number with ties to official Israeli hasbara efforts. What you wrote is not only wrong but actively misleading and needs to be corrected.
Candace “White Racists’ Favorite Black Person” Owens.
Except that groups paid by the Israeli government to engage in “pro-Israel” messaging are involved in the attacks, including a number of bad faith attacks. It was “pro-Israel” ideologues who willfully conflated the issue of Farrakhan into a broader culture war message targeting Sarsour and liberals in general.
This issue is such a mess because there’s both well-grounded concern over the Farrakhan ties and a huge amount of bad faith conservative accusations made for purely political or bigoted reasons (Aka attacking them for being liberals or attacking them for being non-white or in Sarsour’s case Muslim).
Hot Take is getting a dismiss, because seeing them accuse someone of bigotry against Catholics based on literally nothing is more than enough to prove he/she (but let’s be honest it’s a he) is a bad faith troll.
No, Gabbard just wrote a massively dishonest op-ed accusing Hirono, who she was too cowardly to name, of religious bigotry, and postured using bad faith conservative narratives and rhetoric verbatim.
You should change your name to “Bad Take”.
In common usage? Sure. In more analytic terms? I think the distinction holds up quite well, she just isn’t liberal in any way but economic, and European far-right populist parties have long shown you can support certain liberal economic policies without an ounce of liberal political thought.
