Looking at the system this akin to a McDonalds franchise complaining because a guy on the street is selling hot dogs for less money and more convienoence so they can’t make any money. The taxi cab industry and its entry fee combined with a crowded market is what should be looked at.

Although this is terrible news I have difficulty in general having sympathy for taxi drivers. Compared to Uber or Lyft, they provide an equal or worse product at usually a far greater price.
