He wasn’t afraid to overtake and challenge the field when F1 was a Bernie blessed staged managed procession to let Todt, Ferrari and Schumacher win 5 titles with the minimum of fuss and no competition. He was one of the few things worth watching in what I consider F1's worst era. Yes he was sometimes a little too

Agreed. I just think they’ve fallen behind the state of the art in high performance engines because of the lack of any true performance cars in their lineup for the 15 odd years till very recently. Now they’re late to the party on turbocharging and are playing catchup. To me the new NSX is Honda’s current engineering

I think that’s it on Alonso’s involvement in the Honda sponsored catastrophe that’s been his career these past few years. Hopefully Renault can provide him with a competitive car next season or it will be a sad end to one of the best all round drivers we’ve ever seen. I’ve always felt that Hamilton and Vettel are

Easier to get 50/50 weight distribution with a lighter V8 up front.

What top gear host (past or present) would you say you are most like?

Thats because the Model X isn’t really an SUV, its more like a really shitty minivan.

Who cares. He doesn’t have the power to do it and as his ratings look more and more like sinking the Republicans in 2018 he doesn’t have the power in congress. I’ve stopped paying attention the the ravings of a pretty obviously mentally ill individual who can’t really do anything of significance.

Uceavi Spiralshock, a droid dealer from the haruun kal sector. I guess I should say this is our best deal on these droids you’re looking for.

The mini cooper suggestion isn’t terrible but what you really want for autocross is something mid engined. This clean looking MR2 for instance. For 3-4k more you might even be able to get a turbo...

Maybe somebody walked in front of the telescope.

All the cocks have moved to Mercedes since they introduced an illuminated three point star on the front grille as an option on all the lower end models. Some of the junior guys on our trade floor moved straight to a c class or whatever the gross SUV coupe version of it’s called as soon as ther 328i 3 years leases ran

I know VAG develops its own DCTs that can handle monstrous amounts of power and torque (eg the Chiron’s box) but I always thought that Porsche’s PDK was from a vendor - perhaps it was Getrag and not ZF. They don’t seem to have problems with the 991.2 Turbo S and the upcoming GT2 RS which make similar to more power.

Reluctantly, I must agree with the decision to add some sort of AWD to the M5. I’ve had a serious off track moment in a F10 version (BMW performance driving school) because of the way the torque kicks in instantaneously at in the most aggressive throttle maps. There’s nothing you can do about it, the rear just steps

I think distracted driving should be treated the same as DUI, the effects are certainly similar.

I’ve driven the new turbo-4 718s extensively at Porsche’s 2 day track school and I actually really liked the sound of the engines. They’re deeper, harder edged and pretty interesting to listen to with the sports exhaust. I’d say they’re right up there with AMG’s 2.0 as the best sounding 4 cylinder engines you can buy

My somewhat joke-y response to that would be that they wouldn’t have had to use BP-Castrol if Mobil hadn’t ditched them for Red Bull due to Honda’s poor performance in the first place.

Yes they are. Its certainly true that the McLaren chassis is by no means class leading but a simple look at the speed traps for qualifying would show Alonso down 10 kph from the leading cars. Both McLarens were actually slower in a straight line than the 2016 Ferrari engined Saubers. Add to that the extreme

Possibly. The paint can definitely be PTS for a fee and the wheels are also pretty standard (imo they’d look better with the black highlights). The interior is probably a step too far though I think cloth seats of some sort are orderable. With the exception of the steering wheel, the wood trim is also somewhat doable.

Agreed. One of my friends from work (who’s completely responsible for my 911 habit) sold a perfectly specced 993 Carrera S with ~60k miles for over $120k last year! Thats insanity. I think the all turbo 991.2 range has sent things even more insane.

I guess the monkey helped him apex better. I’ll see myself out...
