Yes, correct. I was initially confused as Florida documentation lists both Sales tax AND “USE” taxes. Sounds like Florida also taxes boats that enter Florida, therefore they can’t charge a “sales” tax on those, so they have the “use” tax. Are boats exempt from property taxes in that state? In mine they are taxed, both boats AND floating homes. If a boat, then they should be taxed like other boats and the taxes are usually based on the value of the property (which the owner has stated the cost to buy = value).
