This is the thing I was worried about. Had a similar experience back in FO3 when I tried one of the “realistic dark nights” mods . It was great and atmospheric, but it was so annoying to not be able to see well enough to hit an enemy outside of vats while they could snipe me off as usual. At least night vision helped

You’ve conveniently left out the part where she says this movie actually got her to care about the characters, something none of the Bay Transformer movies has been able to get me to do.

Same! It’s kind of awesome that we live in a time where graphics have hit that point and will only get better from here.

Who was his wife in Independence Day! But she died there too... Mary McDonnell just can’t catch a break when it comes to SciFi

As a 987.1 owner, I’m willing to wait and see. The LeMans and WEC winning 919 is based around a turbo 4 cylinder after all, so it’s not like the company has zero recent experience with making something go extremely quickly with them. I’m going to keep an open mind is all I’m saying.

At times, this feels like the Friday Night Lights of year-end videos ...

Yeah, that’s the moment I went from unsure to “FF XV movement (and maybe combat) system confirmed”. Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing.

+1 for asking the important questions!

I somewhat disagree with you in that those two images you chose still don’t pass the bar for photo realism to me, though they come so damn close. I find them just a bit too shiny/waxy in full light. Once someone figures out that bit I think we’ll have finally hit the right point.

No worries, not saying you have to agree with me. Just taking the opportunity to nerd out a bit and explain my point of view.

I tend to agree with gokartmozart here. It’s probably more likely that they wanted to spend most of their time/effort on their flagship next-gen versions, rather than some sort of intentional attempt to shaft previous-gen console owners. Game devs don’t have infinite resources so a compromise had to be made somewhere.

Well, the Force and the Jedi are regarded as a sort of religious organization (barring the whole midichlorian thing, which, let’s just not) as noted multiple times in both trilogies, so let’s use Shaolin Warrior Monks and the concept of Chi as an example here.

Also keep in mind that we the audience may know about the Jedi/Sith since we followed the movies but, in universe, every single significant use of the Force or a Lightsaber (except for Obi-wan slicing that alien’s arm off) took place in an area where the general public could not have seen anything. Obi-wan and Vader’s

Dammit, I told myself I was done watching trailers for this so I could manage my hype and walk in as blind as possible. So of course I’ve already watched this thing 5 times back to back. Evidently I need to work on my self control.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to get out for shots this time around, but here’s one I took while waiting for the Perseid showers this summer.

Brothers in Arms never fails to make me want to get into my car and drive with the windows down while screaming “WITNESSSSSS!!” at the top of my lungs.

DCT only though, which takes a bit of the visceral away. Shame, that.

Actually, there were Draeni in the footage I saw at SDCC... albeit they only showed up during the bit where Gul’Dan sucked the life out of thousands of them to open the Dark Portal for the first time. But hey, there’re still some in the movie!!

Mad Max always gets a star from me!

Fortunately, this is a point which they stress greatly during the documentary.
