Haha, believe it or not those are just some starting tips. There's so much more to learn, but once you do the sky's your limit in terms of the pictures you'll be able to take.

Yeah, the quality afforded to us now thanks to digital is mind boggling. People can and have shot pro/cinema quality projects using relatively inexpensive equipment. And, as you said, the ability to mess around and take hundreds of shots for just the cost of a memory card is completely invaluable. Also, with the…
Awesome shots! You've just made me regret not living anywhere near a track even more than I already do...
Generally yeah. If you're going to spend money, spend it on good glass. Quality lenses can range anywhere from $500 to $11,000 per piece!
You don't really need to go to school. Buy a decent starter interchangeable lens camera (Canon Rebel, Sony a6000, etc.), read a few books on composition, the light triangle (ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture), and your choice of editing software, then go out and shoot. A LOT.
Yeah, The Rock really was the high point of his career I think. The action was over the top but still comprehensible, Cage was just the right level of crazy, Connery was Connery and brought the class, and Harris's villain was an actual character with clear (and essentially relatable - he was angry about how veterans…
I really dislike the growing trend of just sticking an exposed touch screen onto the dash.
Most importantly, the research was done sans pants.
Hah yeah, that "More please" sentiment is actually one of the reasons I haven't gone to a track yet because I know that once I start I won't be able to stop. I really want to get out there but I also want to make sure I'm financially stable to responsibly manage the maintenance and upkeep that tracking will require.…
I love this thing. Like you said, it's a bit down on power compared to 911's and such, but it more than makes up for it in handling and feel. Besides, you can get one of these Cayman S's close to base 911 power (~350 hp for this generation) pretty easily via exhaust, header, plenum and ECU tune if you want to stay…
Reminds me a bit of what happened when I bought my Cayman. I know how to drive stick but hadn't done so in years, maybe a decade, so of course a couple of friends insisted on coming with me to film as I was pulling out of the lot to take it for a test drive, hoping for a stall to plaster all over the internet.
Seriously. Those guys around the 2:00 mark would be in such a bad way during a shunt...
Hah, that's the first thing I thought of too.
On a somewhat related note, does anyone have any idea if there are any Cayman spec series around in the vein of the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup series?
"Every man at some point in his life is gonna lose a battle. He's gonna fight and he's gonna lose. But what makes him a man, is that in the midst of that battle he does not lose himself."
I'll do you one better. The TPMS on my car died so went to my local Porsche service department to get a quote on replacing them. I didn't bring up MaxCare as I figured it's a battery that lasted 7 years and was thus a consumable so not covered. Being more on the Doug side of mechanical ability, I'd been to the dealer…
That adaptive light setup is ridiculous in the most delightful way.
