I didn’t buy my M50x at retail price. It was closer to $120. But you are right, it is still pricing itself much higher. My impressions is the hyperX to be too low of quality for the price.

I tried these - they didn’t seem comfortable and the sound quality was kind of terrible. The mic was also terrible with a bunch of static/background noise. Moving to ATH-M50x + modmic was way better for a slight price increase - for me anyways. I eventually returned mine because the included sound card was bugging out…

Great mic quality, great (open-back) headphone sound quality, mute microphone by raising the boom, comfortable, breathable, single cord options (4-pole or split to 2x3-pole at sound card end). Price is a little high, but it definitely excels where it needs to. No fancy faux 7.1 simulation... just raw 2 channel quality.
